Rules of the game
Magazine GP manager is a competition in which the participant acts as a team manager by assembling a fictional team within a fictional team budget out of riders in the 2020 MotoGP World Championship. When the team’s riders score points they are allocated to the team and its manager.
Team assembly
Within a fictional budget of 12 million euros you may choose two riders in Moto3, two riders in Moto2 and two riders in MotoGP. In total, the team therefore consists of six riders. Every rider has a certain value and it is up to you to use your knowledge and insight to form the best team you believe is possible within the set budget. It is possible to enter multiple teams as a team manager. The entry fee is € 5.95 per team entry. You can register your team until 7 March 2020 at 14:00 (CET). It is possible to change your team until the deadline of 7 March. After that date registered and paid teams cannot be canceled or altered with the exception of the rider change during the summer break.
Rider change
Is for any reason your team held up in the lower regions of the classification after the first 11 races? During the summer break you have the possibility to exchange a maximum of two riders within your team. To use this one-off option to change your team composition, you pay a further € 2.95 euro alteration fee. The"transfer window" for a rider change during the summer break runs from 13th. of July 2020 to the 6th. of August 2020, 23.59h (CET).
Classification
The points that are awarded to the riders are equal to the points the riders earn in the World Championship. In addition, your team can earn points for the fastest qualifying time (5 points) and for the fastest race lap (5 points).
Subleagues
Curious to compare how the teams of family, friends or colleagues are holding up? Or you wish to prove a point after each race? Enter the mutual battle in a subleague. Every team manager can start a subleague and invite participants to join the league. You can also apply to join an existing subleague. After the manager of the league has approved your request you are a member of his subleague.
Rider absence
Is one of your drivers absent due to (for example) an injury? Like in real life that is part of the job as a team manager. Should this happen to your team, you will be awarded the points earned by the rider who replaces your rider in the World Championship.
Approach question
Upon registration, all team managers have to answer the following question: “How many points did the 2020 MotoGP World Champion collect at the end of the 2020 season including points for the fastest racing lap and pole positions? In case of a tie, where winning teams have collected the same number of points, the team manager whose answer to this question is closest to the actual result will be classified above the team with the same number of points.
